Born in Douglas, AZ. In the coal-mining town of Gamerco, NM, she raised six boys and five girls; I am the oldest. My mom instilled in each of us a proud work ethic and drive to create a better life. When the last of us left home, she became a nurse’s aide to continue working with families and, most importantly, children.
