Known principally as anarchist, but in fact she was a fierce, influential thinker and advocate for women’s rights, freedom of thought and expression, sexual freedom and birth control, labor unions and the eight-hour work week. Deported to her native Russia for her work on behalf of conscientious objectors during WWI.
