My mother (a Great-Grandmother) purchased this 1993 Pendleton “Spirit Quest” blanket after moving into a retirement home in Vancouver, WA, to be close to family. She was drawn to the design and vibrant colors of the blanket and I was drawn to the story.

The design portrays petroglyphs found along the Columbia River dating back over 10,000 years, and symbolizes the ritual of a young Brave’s quest in seeking his destiny through a vision into the Spirit World of his creator.

My family is pleased to donate this blanket as part of the Blanket Stories project in her memory, and to honor the Native People who have lived for centuries throughout the region of the Columbia River.
