My Mormon grandmother travelled the world on missions to spread the Mormon gospel. She spent time in the Pacific Islands and learned quilting techniques in Hawaii, which were then adapted by Mormon ladies back in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was always hosting quilting bees and reveled in learning new designs and methods.
