This is my mother Elaine’s childhood blanket. She named it “Scratchy” when she was very young, in the early 1920s. Though long out of use, she always took care of it - it was near to her heart until the end of her life in September 2015. She took it to college with her, partly as a joke and partly for practicality. She loved artists and was very supportive of artists. She would be proud to have Scratchy live on in an artist’s work.
