Grandmothers, Great depression, Hand

This quilt was made by my grandmother, Mildred Sawyer O’Neill, in Lyons, Kansas in about 1958. I remember watching her and her quilting buddies spend afternoons on it, stitching away. I can look at it and remember some of the pieces that used to be my clothes or someone else’s in the family. My grandmother was a wheat farm wife who raised 6 kids during the Depression.
