I created this “out of Africa” themed coverlet from a sarong my sister in law from NYC bought on a trip to Capri, Italy. I decided to repurpose it into bedding vs. wearing it a few times a year.
I found some satin fabric to back it with and used another “retired” quilt as the filler. My hands are quite arthritic, so I just used hand ties with embroidery thread to bind it together.
It looked pretty and provided warmth while on the couch I had for 20 years. I was delighted with the chance to donate my blanket to Marie for her awesome project in Pakistan.
